Cuna
to Cradle

Living things, including humans, are born, grow up, reproduce and then die. At least, that is the life cycle we’ve been taught. Yet, nature doesn’t work that way. In the natural environment, even when things die, they play an essential role in generating new life. Think, for example, of a ripe apple falling from a tree and then rotting at its roots. The fallen fruit provides the nutrients needed for new apples to grow and the seeds into a new tree, a continuous cycle. In nature, nothing is wasted.

Reusing
Resources

The “cradle-to-cradle” concept is based on this natural process in which everything we use becomes a nutrient that can be returned to the environment or recycled without a loss of quality. To the existing well-known trio of “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle,” the cradle-to-cradle approach brings in a fourth R, “Redesign.” By redesigning the way we live to emulate nature, we can reuse resources and create a continuous loop that recycles them, thereby reducing or eliminating waste. The name “Eco Cunas” was inspired by this concept, ”cunas” translating to “cradles” in Spanish.

Low Utility Bills &
Peace of Mind

Utility Bills

Imagine if paying high utility bills were a thing of the past? By utilizing zero-waste, closed-loop systems based on the “cradle-to-cradle” model, Eco Cunas makes that dream a reality. Saving thousands of dollars annually on water, electricity and waste removal while helping to save the planet offers not only a win-win for property owners but profound implications for the future of the Earth and our place on it.

100%

Solar Powered

Every element and structure of the Eco Cunas is designed with energy efficiency in mind. By utilizing solar power as well as highly rated energy-efficient materials throughout, the development will not require public, fossil or nuclear-based power sources for everyday living, meaning no more power bills to break the bank.
Advance

Water Filtration

Our water systems will be verified via audit by some of the most prestigious and recognized certification programs for sustainable buildings worldwide and water systems in Mexico. These verifications distinguish real estate projects that have demonstrated a commitment to sustainable development by meeting the highest standards of performance in energy efficiency, preservation of natural resources and reduction of environmental impact.
Global

Certification

Eco Cunas will be the first registered LEED Zero Water certified development in Mexico. This rating is achieved through the use of innovative water management strategies based on natural cyclical systems that result in “zero balance” water use over a period of 12 months.

Certifications

Eco Cunas will seek to meet the highest standards of sustainability, health and well-being for its residents by obtaining several types of certifications that demonstate our commitment to green building and environmentally sound practices.

LEED

USGBC (United States Green Building Council)
Developed by the USGBC (United States Green Building Council), LEED is the most prestigious and recognized certification program for sustainable buildings worldwide. Every building will be designed to give top priority to the use of natural resources while eliminating consumption of non-renewable energy and leaving a net positive carbon footprint. This eco development will be established as a huge sustainable milestone in Mexico, paving the way for hopefully more eco-conscious developments.
